Personal Statement All applicants must submit a typed or hand-written essay describing yourself to the Admissions Committee. Indicate why you wish to attend St. John's College High School. Transfer students must also explain why they wish to leave their current school. Mail the essay separate from the application with the $60.00 application fee (make check payable to St. John's College High School).
De La Salle Scholars Program serves the academically gifted student whose motivation and commitment to learning extend beyond the challenges of the traditional classroom. In addition to your personal statement, De La Salle Scholar applicants must answer the following question: Sophomore scholars at St. John's learn through field-based experiences focused on art, reasoning, politics and faith. These field-based experiences help Scholars evolve into more active learners. Describe a time where you learned about one of these subjects outside the traditional classroom. What role did you play in taking responsibility for your learning? Additionally, how do you feel that experiences outside the classroom can enhance your high school education?
