| "Trainer Mike" received his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland in 1998. While working on his degree, he interned with the sports medicine department providing medical coverage and care for many of the University's athletic teams. In 2000, he received his Master's Degree in Education at Frostburg State University. During his two years in the mountains, he was a graduate assistant for the university and worked as an athletic trainer at a local high school in nearby Cumberland. He also obtained his certifications as an athletic trainer (ATC) and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) in 1999 and 2000, respectively. After living and working in the state of Pennsylvania for two years, "Trainer Mike" joined the St. John's community in the summer of 2002. Along with his athletic training duties, Mr. Walker also instructs two sections of Introduction to Sports Medicine and one section of Strength and Conditioning during the school hours. | |||||||||||
