THE BENILDE PROGRAM RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION
In July 2000, the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and Boston College selected the Benilde Program as a SPICE award recipient. Fifteen SPICE (Specific Programs Improving Catholic Education) awards are bestowed on programs nationwide that are found to be worthy of replication. In conjunction with the award, other schools nationwide have an opportunity to receive information about how to create their own program.

In April of 2005, the Benilde Program was awarded a second SPICE award from the National Catholic Educational Association and Boston College. (SPICE – “Specific Programs Improving Catholic Education”) The Benilde Program was selected as one of nine previous SPICE award winners from the past decade. With this recognition, the Benilde Program will receive national publicity via articles to be featured in Momentum Magazine, Today’s Catholic Teacher, and via presentations to be given at Boston College and the NCEA convention to be held in New Orleans in Spring, 2006.
