750 Computer Literacy: An Introduction to Business Applications | {Grades 9/10/11/12 & .5 Credit}

This introductory course is intended to acquaint students with the operations and applications of the computer in the business world. It is designed as a practical, hands-on approach to learning.

Instruction focuses on the utilization of software applications in the areas of word processing, spread sheets, database management, graphic utilities, and telecommunications (Internet & Internet publishing). All course work is required to be completed within the Macintosh Operating System.

All computer hardware and software packages are made available through the SJC Computer Center. A personal computer at home is not required for successful completion of this course.

Although Computer Literacy is designed as an introductory course, it is not intended for the first time computer user. Participants must be familiar with a GUI (Graphical User Interface) operating system, such as the Macintosh or Windows OS.

PREREQUISITES: Computer Keyboarding Skills & Structured Documents or the SJC Equivalency Exam.
