Accents & Typographical Symbols

Windows 95

The following keystrokes can be used in any word processor within the Windows 95 Operating System {WinOS} {and in most Windows 3.x.x word processors}.

If you don't see some characters properly {in your browser}, you probably have some international setting of your operating system, that affects your character set. The WWW browsers usually expect that you use ISO Latin 1 {or MS Windows Latin 1 or Macintosh} character set.

In order to access the accents and typographical symbols, you must make sure the num lock key is on and use the numbers on the numeric keypad {not the numbers on the main keyboard}.
