New Parent Orientation: A welcome to new parents provided by the administration and faculty. Mothers’ Club Executive Board assist at the membership table and answer questions after the presentation to new parents. Open House: Prospective students and parents tour St. John’s and meet students, faculty and parents. Mothers' Club volunteers give tours paired with an SJC student, staff welcome/information tables, provide desserts, and serve refreshments Mardi Gras Celebration: Mothers' Club volunteers provide desserts to students and staff at lunch time. Volunteers also decorate dessert area for Mardi Gras and hand out necklaces and prizes to students. JROTC Commissioning Reception: Mothers' Club volunteers decorate the cafeteria and serve refreshments after the ceremony in which select junior JROTC cadets become commissioned officers in the Cadet Corp. Used Book Turn-in and Sale: Mothers' Club volunteers assist with receiving and cataloging used books during exam week, then help with re-sale in August. There are separate sell dates for Freshmen and upperclassmen. Senior/Faculty Reception: Seniors and their parents are invited to enjoy a light buffet and conversation as they visit with faculty and administration. Mothers' Club volunteers decorate and help serve refreshments at this reception in conjunction with the Men of St. John’s.
MOTHERS’ CLUB SPONSORED EVENTS Calls to New Parents: Mothers' Club volunteers call parents of new students to welcome them to St. John’s. Welcome Tea: Mothers’, grandmothers, and female guardians of SJC students join together for the opportunity to meet informally and socialize. Mothers' Club volunteers plan and coordinate activities including entertainment, and Mass is offered in the Chapel for those who wish to attend. Teacher Appreciation Breakfast: Mothers' Club volunteers provide baked goods and breakfast for the teachers. Volunteers serve food and assist in making this a special time for staff. Regimental Ball: Mothers' Club volunteers provide the JROTC staff with assistance in checking in Cadets, handling the coat room, and serving refreshments Christmas Decorating: Mothers' Club volunteers help to put the school into the holiday spirit by decorating the lobby areas, hallways, library and administrative offices with holiday decorations. Post Prom Party: Party following the SCJ Prom. Mothers' Club volunteers work all year soliciting donations of prizes, planning and coordinating activities. Actual event requires volunteers to chaperone and staff the prize raffles.
MOTHERS’ CLUB FUNDRAISERS Gourmet Dessert and Pizza Sale: Mothers' Club volunteers coordinate advertising, tabulate orders, and help on distribution day. This is the Mothers' Club major fundraiser with proceeds benefiting the Post Prom party. Mothers’ Club Cook Book: Mothers' Club volunteers coordinated the collection and organization of recipes for the creation of the cookbook. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit St. John’s and the students for various Mothers' Club activities. Used Uniform Turn-in and Sale: Mothers' Club volunteers assist with receiving and organizing clean used uniforms at the end of the school year. These uniforms are sold during Used book sale dates in August. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit St. John’s and the students for various Mothers' Club activities. |
