Our Theatre Season

St. John's Theatre

A Full Year Of Theater And Fun!

"Gracious! You never know where Sr. Genesius willpop out of next!" Sr Jude Thaddeus (Maureen D'Antuono '00) from the spring '97 production, NUNSENSE

Each year, St. John's Theatre presents two theatrical productions, a fall drama or comedy and a spring musical. Past fall productions have ranged from the hilarious comedy Once in A Lifetime by Kaufman and Hart to the dramatic 12 Angry Jurors to the experimental production of Glimpses, and a staged reading/annotated version of the classic A Christmas Carol. Spring musicals presented at St. John's have included Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Godspell, and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?

Each theatrical season at St. John's opens with our Annual Drama Mass and Pot-Luck Supper and closes with the St. John's Theatre Family Picnic and Award Ceremony where, among other citations, the Senior Drama Award is presented to that graduating student who has, for the past four years, consistently gone beyond the call of duty in service to the theatrical arts at St. John's.

A Certificate of Achievement, given to those students each year
who go beyond the call of duty for St. John's Theatre.

The Men of St. John's Dinner Theater and the Faculty Reception

On opening night of each Theatre production, the Men of St. John's host the St. John's Dinner Theater. A deliciously catered affair, the past two Dinner Theaters have sold out well in advance! .

For the past four years, St. John's Theatre has shown it's appreciation to the faculty of the school by inviting all employees of St. John's and their families to a special preview performance of the show preceeded by a light reception. This is our way of saying thank you to all those wonderful members of the faculty who help make our productions a success.
